Sixteen round lab diamonds traced in half-pavé along a snug hoop that curves close to the lobe, built for everyday wear.
A pair of solid 18K white gold huggie hoop earrings set with 16 round lab diamonds in shared-prong half-pavé along the front face.
Available in 14K or 18K gold, in white, yellow, or rose. Hoop diameter can be specified at 8 mm, 10 mm as shown, or 12 mm, and the diamond coverage can be extended from half-pavé to three-quarter or full-pavé. Natural diamond is available on request.
The Elsie is a pair of diamond huggie hoop earrings in solid 18K white gold, with 16 round lab diamonds set in shared-prong half-pavé along the front face of each hoop. Huggie hoops sit close against the lobe (hence the name, they hug the ear) which makes them more secure and lower-profile than a standard hoop. The result is a piece that catches the light when the wearer turns her head, but does not swing or pull during the day.
The 10 mm diameter places this at the smaller end of the hoop spectrum, which makes it easy to layer with a second piercing or wear alone without competing with the rest of the face. Within our earrings collection, this is the everyday-pavé position: more presence than a plain solitaire stud, but more restraint than a large statement hoop.
The defining choice in this design is putting diamonds only on the front-facing arc, not the full circumference. The half-pavé covers the part of the hoop that is actually visible when the earring is worn (roughly from the top of the ear down to the lobe), so every stone in the piece is doing visible work. The back arc stays as polished white gold, which keeps the silhouette clean from the back and avoids the weight and cost of stones that the wearer would never see.
Each of the 16 stones is set in a shared-prong configuration, which means adjacent diamonds split prongs with their neighbors rather than each having four independent prongs. This keeps the metalwork between stones as thin as possible, so the eye reads a continuous line of light rather than a row of separate dots. The band is 1.45 mm wide, kept slender so the hoop disappears into a single bright arc when the wearer is in motion. Closure is a hinged snap, which clicks shut against a small tension catch on the inside of the post and feels secure for a full day of wear.
The hoop body, hinge, post, and closure catch are all milled from solid 18K white gold (no plating, no fill), with rhodium finishing at the final stage to give the cool, neutral white that matches diamond color cleanly. The 16 stones are lab grown diamonds, IGI graded in the F to G color, VS clarity range as standard, with higher grades available on request. Each stone is matched in diameter to its neighbors before setting so the half-pavé reads as a uniform line of light rather than a stepped row.
This pair of huggie hoop earrings is built to order. The configuration shown is a starting point, not a fixed SKU. The following options can be specified before production starts.
To start an inquiry on these huggie hoop earrings, send us your preferred hoop diameter, gold karat (14K or 18K) and color, diamond coverage (half, three-quarter, or full pavé), and any other context such as second-piercing pairing, ear sensitivity, or a layering plan with other hoops so we can match the proportions to how you intend to wear them.
