Most statement bangles repeat one shape all the way round. This one uses two, and lets each keep its own character: pears taper to a point, emerald cuts are flat and rectangular. Among our gold bracelets, it is the bangle built around graded stones rather than pave.

Design Details

How Do the Two Lines of Stones Meet?

The bangle is built as a bypass: the two ends of the diamond section do not join, they slide past each other at the front. The pear line approaches from one side and the emerald cut line from the other, and both grow in size as they near the overlap, so the two largest stones sit next to each other at the overlap, at the center of the wrist. From above, the front reads as a single cluster; from the side, you see two separate rows.

Pears are set point outward so each tip leads toward the end of its arm, and emerald cuts are set lengthwise along the rail so their step facets line up like a row of windows. The band behind the stones is a slim polished gold rail, hinged so it opens at the side instead of being worked over the hand. At 5.5 mm high the stones stand proud of the rail without catching on a sleeve.

Materials & Craft

What Metal and Diamonds Are Used?

The rail, the prongs, the hinge, and the clasp are solid 14K yellow gold. The 13 stones are lab grown diamonds in pear and emerald cuts, 12 3/4 carats together. The two largest stones, the pear and the emerald cut that meet at the overlap, carry individual IGI reports, as does every other stone in the bangle of 0.30 ct and above. Smaller stones toward the tips are covered by a test certificate on the gold and the diamonds.

  • ◆ Each stone gets its own prong setting cut to its outline, with a V shaped prong guarding the point of every pear
  • ◆ The pears and the emerald cuts are graded as two separate graduated sequences, so each step in size is even and the two lines arrive at the overlap at matching scale
  • ◆ The emerald cuts are matched for length to width ratio before setting, because step cuts placed in a row show any difference in proportion immediately
  • ◆ After setting, the overlap is checked from the side so the two lines clear each other without touching, and the hinge and clasp are tested for closing security

What Can Be Specified Before Production?

This bangle is built to order. The configuration shown is a starting point, not a fixed SKU. The following options can be specified before production starts.

  • ◆ Wrist size: taken from your wrist measurement, with the rail shaped to sit flat on the wrist
  • ◆ Carat weight: 12 3/4 ct as shown, or a lighter graduation starting from smaller stones
  • ◆ Stone shapes: pear and emerald cut as shown, or one shape on both arms, with oval or marquise as alternatives
  • ◆ Gold karat: 14K as shown, or 18K
  • ◆ Gold color: yellow as shown, with rose and white both shown here
  • ◆ White gold finish: rhodium plated over solid white gold; the plating wears gradually with friction, fastest on rings, and can be re-plated
  • ◆ Engraving: a name, a date, or a short line inside the rail, in the font you choose, at no charge
  • ◆ Stone type: lab grown diamond as standard, with natural diamond available on request
  • ◆ Diamond grade: F color and VS clarity at minimum as our lab grown standard; D color and VVS clarity available on request
