Point Up Pears and a Drop That Matches the Necklace

Each pear is set point up in a three prong basket, the small stone fixed at the lobe and the larger stone hung from it on a short hinged link, so the drop swings slightly and the lower pear always falls straight. The open basket under both stones is left clear, which lets light pass through the back of each pear rather than only the front.

The pear cut here is shaped to match the pear in our pendant necklace from the same line, the same teardrop outline and proportions, so the earrings and necklace read as one set when worn together. Each earring runs about 21.5 millimeters from the top of the lobe stone to the point of the lower pear, and sits on a post with a secure disc back.
