What Is This Two Tone Jesus Body Pendant?

This Jesus body pendant is the figure of Christ from a crucifix, made without the cross, in solid 10K yellow gold with the hair, loincloth and footrest plated white. It is built hollow and comes in six sizes, from 38 mm long at 1.30 g to 125 mm at 13.60 g.

How Is the Figure Shaped, and Where Is the White Finish?

The figure hangs with arms outstretched and slightly raised, head tilted to one side, the chest and ribs modeled in strong relief and polished bright. The legs come together at the feet, which rest on a small block footrest, and the bail rises from behind the head.

Three areas are plated white: the hair and beard, the folded loincloth at the hips, and the footrest. The loincloth and the footrest are also cut with diamond cut facets, so the white catches light in small points while the polished yellow body reflects in broad highlights.

What Gold Is It Made In, and Why Is the 125 mm Size Only 13.60 g?

The pendant is solid 10K yellow gold, 41.7% pure gold, with the white areas rhodium plated as a finish. It is built hollow: the raised front is closed by a flat back plate engraved with small circles, which is why the 125 mm size weighs 13.60 g and the 38 mm size 1.30 g. The hollow build keeps even the large sizes comfortable on a chain.

• ◆ The body is polished to a high shine, so the muscles and the ribs show as reflections rather than as texture
• ◆ The diamond cut facets on the loincloth and the footrest are cut with a diamond tipped tool; the name refers to the tool, and the pendant carries no stones
• ◆ The white areas are rhodium plated after polishing with the yellow gold masked, and the rhodium wears gradually with friction and can be re-plated
• ◆ The bail is sized to each pendant, from 17 by 11.5 mm on the 125 mm size to 5 by 4 mm on the 38 mm size
